SINCE I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT AND STARTED TO USE IT RIGHT AWAY; IT HAS WORKED VERY WELL WITH THE WASTE. THERE'S NO MORE SMELLY AND MAGGOT FILLED BAGS TO TAKE OUT TO THE CURB EVERY WEEK. I JUST PUT THE WASTE INTO THE IN GROUND TANK, KEEP IT FILLED WITH WATER, AND ONCE A WEEK I ADD THE EMZINES TO HELP BREAK UP THE WASTE. I HAVE 2 LARGE DOGS THAT PRODUCE A LOT OF WASTE EACH DAY. We've had 2 large labs for several years. Cleaning the yard was a chore but the more important issue was, "Where do you put it?". So we did what most intelligent people do. We got an Irish Wolfhound puppy to round out our family. Now there's a minor problem. You have two big poopers and add a small pony. This dictated we pursue alternative measures. Since we are on well and septic here is our community, I thought the idea of a second septic tank just for the critters would be practicle. After doing research, I found the Doggie Dooley system already exists, so I bought one. The only problem was the size of the hole you have to dig to install it. But that's done and now you have a practical and effective way to dispose of the waste. Carrying several buckets of water to the back corner of our 3/4 acre back yard where the tank is located is incovenient but a hose that long is not really an alternative. It's been in use for about a month now and looks like it's doing what it's supposed to do. If it does, it will make our life (and our back yard) a lot more livable.

I have two large dogs. And I clean up the poop almost daily. I thought this would be quicker for me and more practical. But this is more of a hassle than anything else. Spent alot of money to get started. And then spent more on the digester product and all the water I used as well. I couldn't believe how often I needed to add water and digester to keep this working properly. (I ended up buying the septic tank enzymes stuff you can buy at local store for a lot cheaper.) I used this for one season. After the temps dropped I went back to my old way of cleaning up the yard. I haven't started it back up. I decided that in the long run it was easier and cheaper to put the poop in a plastic bag and throw in the trash. Good concept, but just didn't work for us.

Out of the box, we were surprised at how flimsy and poorly constructed the materials were. For instance, the holes for the bolts on the lid hinge did not line up (and it was not as simple as drilling new ones, either). We found the plastic so flimsy that no matter how careful we were about filling in around it, the walls buckled a little under the weight of the dirt and now the lid will not line up with the base. We are using a rock to keep it closed. We followed directions for starting use, including adding feces, so we aren't going to dig it up right away. In the meantime, we are certainly disappointed. We are thinking of just using a 5-gal. bucket with the bottom cut out and then buying just enzymes -- at least the bucket is strong enough plastic to hold up and capacity is similar. The other problem we have is that the water does not stay in the system long enough to do its job, so the feces isn't really getting taken care of. Before we started, we filled it and it seemed to be draining slowly (it took at least overnight). That was when it had been raining, though, and the ground must have been saturated. Since we put it into use, it now only takes about two hours for the whole thing to drain. Getting this all out is going to be a messy proposition, so we are still working on finding a solution, but I really wish we had never bought it in the first place.
