We have been Coolaroo bed fans for years, and it is great to be able to replace the covers. They hold up so well outside that we have indoor and outdoor beds for the dogs. ~ Unfortunately they are not puppy "chew proof". This is the only reason we had to replace the covers.

This is a great item for the pup who likes to lounge AND stay cool. The Coolaroo hammock pet bed gives great pressure point-free comfort for my 105 pound lab and the heavy duty mesh fabric allows great air circulation to keep him cool. Aids in drying your freshly washed dog quicker due to the ventilation the bed provides. I have found the replacable mesh fabric lasts about 2 years before a need for replacement.

Bought this for Tug - our 11 year old Chesapeake male. He is an outside dog and in the summer in Nashville that gets hot. The bed is sturdy and simple to assemble. We place a fan on the ground pointed at the bed and with the elevated mesh, Tug gets circulation all around. The bed is just the right height for him to get in and get out. That is important as he is moving a lot slower now due to his age. Very happy with this purchase.

My pup LOVES a bed with stuffing and this one has held up because there is nothing to chew! I will say that the dogs haven't taken to it like a stuffed dog bed, but when they do get on there they sleep peacefully. Easy to assemble. Durable. The medium is more than enough for my 40 lb beagle/pit mix and a mini golden retriever mutt to lay on together. Will purchase again.

I love the idea of this thing. They are easy to vacuum under and do seem to keep the dogs cool. But 2 of our dogs won't get on without a sheet. I'm not sure why, but they really seem to notice. The other dogs, don't mind and sleep on them with or without a sheet. They are a little tough to put together, but nothing hard if you have some strength. That said, if you dogs will use it, I can't recommend it more highly.

 Difficult to put together!, June 18 ,2010

I purchased the medium sized aluminum Coolaroo dog bed. First of all, it's confusing to know what size to get. We wanted something that would fit into our camper (so we didn't want it to be too big), yet it needed to be big enough for our dog. We have a German Shephard/Australian Cattle Dog mix. She weighs 58 pounds. When I contacted the Coolaroo company, they told me the medium sized bed is for dogs up to 75 pounds and the large for dogs up to 150 pounds. However, on the box, it indicates for dogs up to 50 pounds!?! At any rate, It took me and my 15 year old son a couple of HOURS to finally get this thing put together! I know the fabric is supposed to be taught, however, we could not get it stretched enough to fit that final leg into the PLASTIC bracket! I thought for sure it was going to break! I ended up putting the bed outside, in the HOT SUN to make it more pliable. It was put together, except for the final leg. I held the bed (sitting down), long ways in front of me, and I stretched out the frame by putting my feet through the two ends towards the ground and was able to contort it around somehow to get that final leg in place. WHAT A PAIN THIS WAS! I don't think it should be this difficult! Maybe the pad we received was defective (too small). I don't know. I do like the coolaroo fabric, although it is very course. You will want to put a pad or blanket of some sort on top. I am not sure I would buy it again, but I think now that it's together, we'll get some good use out of it. By the way, my dog fits just fine on the bed. I'll take some photo's in the next day or two and put them up on Amazon as it's a little easier having a 'visual'.
