Price: $7.95(As of Fri, 12 Mar 2010) Common Opinion: Product Overview and Summary Adorable plush pillow uses the sound of a heartbeat to calm and sooth an anxious puppy or dog. The pillow contains a heartbeat mechanism that can be turned on as desired or removed for washing. It provides a great way to reduce separation anxiety in dogs and/or ease the transition into a new home for a puppy. Customer Experience and Opinions Heartbeat pillow, March 01 ,2010 MereH (NC) says: my puppy (7 week old lab) liked this- but as a chew toy more than anything. Does not even seem to notice if heartbeat is on or not. after chewing on it a few days, removed the box with the "heartbeat" as it is inside bone pillow, seam is velcro. I thought the puppy would be able to easily open the velcro and remove plastic casing for chewing. was hoping it would help appease him when alone or at night, but didn't work for that function. seems to be a pretty sturdy chew toy though!
Good for other purpose, October 16 ,2009 L. Kieling reveals that: My puppy had a hard time being left alone when we first got him at 9 weeks. I bought the heart beat pillow to try to help with the separation anxiety. When I got it in the mail and gave it to him, he loved it... but more because he was having fun attacking the pillow to try to get to the sound. It keeps him busy and helps with his biting, even though it is not meant to be a chew toy. I think its worth trying for your pup... you never know what they will like it for, but I'm sure they'll like it!
He can't sleep without it..., August 10 ,2009 Denisse Pichardo (Dominican Republic) says: My dog loooooooves this toy. I can say my pup has a lot of different toys which I tend to rotate so he does not get bored of them, but he will not let me leave him without this one. He actually takes it to sleep with in his crate. When he moves form one area to another of the house, he will take this toy to the place he wants to be in, and then go back and take any other he wants to play with. Generally he puts the toy near his chest (when beating) and plays with his other toys. I can't say it really "calms" him, but I can affirm that he enjoys the sound of the heartbeat.
